Has anyone ever read this book?   And if so, what is your opinion?   (I've read the Amazon reviews but would appreciate feedback from a modern religio adherant).

A reminder that Neos Alexandria is requesting submissions for a Zeus devotional.  Also accepted are entries on Jupiter, provided he is equated with Zeus.

Dec. 17th, 2009 @ 08:44 pm Io, Saturanlia!
Happy first day of Saturnalia!

I'm going to celebrate Saturnalia much like Christmas, with the giving of presents and spending time with family and friends. The Romans had a tradition of giving slaves more (public) freedoms during Saturnalia, and by giving gifts. I don't have any slaves (lol!), so I've decided to give small gifts to those people who help me with jobs I either cannot or do not do my self: my auto mechanics, the custodians at my school, and the mail and paper deliverers. I'm also going to help serve Christmas Eve dinner at one of the local homeless shelters.

What are the rest of you doing to celebrate the season?

On a personal note, I'm going to be celebrating/honoring many of the festivals this coming year beginning on the new moon on December 16. I purchased a lunar day planner from Friday Press and wrote many of the festivals into it to help me keep track of them (and boy are there a *lot* of festivals!). Would anyone be interested in knowing how I celebrate them, or be interested in sharing how they plan on celebrating certain festivals? Hint, hint.
